New Energy Congress has found someone with web programming skills to build the necessary electronic infrastructure for an efficient and effective flow of information.

This page is maintained to provide and outline of needs.

We need to be able to coordinate the collecting and reporting of technology assessments.

Position Description

The main task right now is to create the needed electronic infrastructure for the Congress. We are receiving technology submissions, reviewing those submissions, ranking the submissions according to our criteria, then listing the technologies according to their ranking. Presently, all this is being done manually. We need to automate the process.

There are, of course, many other IT tasks relevant to the Congress.

The Technology Review Process

We would like to see this process streamlined and automated as much as possible.

  1. Our energy technology submissions are presently being received at http://www.pureenergysystems.com/submit/index1.html
  2. Technologies that are not obvious top 100 quality are sent to a committee mailing list to be screened: thumbs up or thumbs down, to then be reviewed by the Congress as a whole.
  3. Technologies that seem to meet top 100 criteria are sent to a Congress-wide mailing list for discussion.
  4. Those emails are organized manually on the recipient's email folders, by category, such as "electromagnetic".
  5. Candidate technologies are then presented for a vote with the following options: Not top 100; Top 2; Top 5; Top 10; Top 20; Top 50; Top 100; Abstain; Not enough information; Need more time to discuss.
  6. Those votes are then tallied once each month to be presented in a report.
  7. A feature page for the technology is manually created at http://PESWiki.com (shortcut url: http://top100energy.com), if there isn't already a relevant directory page regarding it. The page contents are based on the information received from the original submission and the comments provided by the congress, and other research into the subject. If the technology qualifies as "top 100", then a {{Top 100}} tag is placed at the beginning of the page.
  8. A link is created to the feature page from the Top 100 page, in a position roughly estimated to match its score in relation to the other technologies in the list, according to our criteria.
  9. As new information is received, technologies are manually moved up and down in the Top 100 listing.

Because of the amount of information involved in the ten criteria for each technology, a manual tally and accounting is too unweildy, and hence has not been attempted yet.

Remuneration

Presently we are not in a position to provide at-market compensation for this position. But we are willing to provide a stipend.
