Results with my Isuzu Rodeo
April 5, 2005
[edit]
Summary
- 1997 Isuzu Rodeo, 3.3L V6, 4WD
- ratio(s) of acetone used (2oz / 10 gal)
- mileage before average 12-13 mpg city, 18-19 hwy.
- mileage after 15.2 city, 20.89 hwy.
- increase in mileage: 22% city; 13% hwy
- number of miles tested city between 85 and 125, Hwy. between 120 and 150
- other observations the engine seems to run quieter even with my leaky exhaust :); I have also added a "homemade" tornado fuel saver.
I GOOFED!!!! :) I added 4 oz in a 21.9 gal tank and got the above results (lower than the 20z/10 gal ration). I have been averaging 15.2mpg city. Added 5 oz./21.9 gal tank; city mileage jumped to 20.3 (only tested this once, but am still testing the above ratio of 1oz/4 gal) Fuel used is from Sheetz ( I don't know if they have Methanol in their gas, or even the quality; it is the closest low priced gas next to Costco)
