TWM Technology's Electro Magnetic Energy (EME) sips power from six motorcycle batteries while also recharging them.

The present prototype EME has been shown to be up to 82 percent efficient. It is capable of tremendous speed. One of the prototypes has achieved 10,000 rpm. They expect that a more robust, optimized prototype could possibly handle up to 20-25,000 rpm.

When the motor runs above a certain speed, the shaft rides on a magnetic cushion, not on bearings, eliminating the metal-on-metal wear all together.

The motor produces no heat but runs at ambient temperature, so super-cheap, recycled materials could be used in its manufacturing.

The company expects that the motor could be scaled to power everything from cell phones to air craft carriers.

They expect their next prototype (completion expected by end of Jan. 2009) could be over 100% efficient, harnessing permanent magnet power which may be drawing it from some kind of universal energy source that nature provides inexhaustibly and for free.

"We've figured out how to make magnets the fuel." -- Todd Thorpe (Jan. 5, 2009)

Costs

The company expects that a 600 HP motor (40" long, 15" in diameter) that could be retrofitted into a semi trailer truck would cost around $40,000, and would pay for itself in 50 days from fuel savings.

Advantages

  • Mostly plastic.
  • One moving part.

Applications

  • Wherever motors that provide lots of torque are required.
  • Suggested use in Helicopters.

Independent Testing

Mr. Henry Johnson,
This letter is in regard to the testing of your "new motor" completed under my supervision at Frankenmth High School on January 16, 2009. As a witness and a participant in the testing, I would like to congratulate you on a revolutionary invention. The fact that the "new motor" powered the 350 pound load around the facility for one continuous hour is definitely an accomplishment. But even more amazing is that the batteries powering the motor remained fully charged. I look forward to your continued development and application of this technology."

TWM gets US patent on electromagnetic motor - Allegedly, not only does TWM Technology, LLC's motor produces enough electricity to keep its batteries topped off, with energy left over for other use, but it also produces torque. The motor does not heat up under load, so it can be built from cheaper materials, including wood and plastic. (PESN; Sept. 11, 2010)

Comments by Mikhail Manza:

This is a three phase Bedine type motor but much better. The idea coming from this inventer from the petrol engine commutator-normal type, is the same as what Bedine did butšslightly different becausešthe fly wheel with the hole interrupts the magnet flow from the permanent magnet sealed across the core of the ignition coil. It is a Bedine type motor with five poles and three phases (15 poles). The same power of torque is compatiblešto a one phase (as used only for slow fans) and a three phase motor. The commutator possibly uses just uses diodes and relays for accurate charging. It uses a system of total repolarization of the coils (not partial like Bedini). I think that the construction is coming from the idea to create a reliable commutator and generator (two in one) for US engines of the old Ford type. It is exactly the same construction for six or eight cylinders.

Ingenious 5 phase design

On Sept. 12, 2010, Mark Snoswell of ChavaEnergy wrote:

I can see that they have clearly spent a lot of time coming up with this rather ingenious 5 phase design. The three rotor disks carrying the magnets and the two stator disks are quite clever in their relative positioning: note also the asymmetrical electromagnet pole pieces. Clearly a lot of experimental refinement has gone into this design.
