GMC Holdings Corp
Company claims a super-efficient or over-unity electromagnetic generator, coined REMAT™, an acronym for RARE EARTH MAGNETIC AMPLIFICATION TECHNOLOGY. Skeptics urge caution; apparent fraud.
On Feb. 22, 2008, the US Securities and Exchange Commission filed an action against GMC Holding Corporation (GMC) and its CEO, Richard Brace, for defrauding investors by issuing false press releases touting the company's development of a motor technology device capable of generating unlimited energy... Applications
- "In our announcement Sept. 8, 2005, we indicated two markets for the first
application of our technology -- golf carts and utility vehicles. By no means are these our only markets to consider. We can scale these motors to be as small as a heart pacemaker and large enough to power a city. They can be constructed as small fractional horsepower motors to thousands of horsepower. We have identified hundreds of markets for licensing worldwide. We will enter these markets by manufacturing internally and/or licensing the REMAT motor technology to various existing motor manufacturers of all possible motor sizes limited only by the manufacturing capability of the licensee." Reasons for Caution
- The company is new in the arena of energy, and though they might think they have something, they do not have the experience to know 1) if they really have something, 2) how to successfully take something to market in this field that is new to them.
- The report (http://pesn.com/2005/07/01/9600118_GMCC_REMAT/) claiming independent verification by professor Eugene P. Augustin reveals that he is probably not familiar with this genre of device, and hence does not know some of the tricky things to look for to make sure he is seeing what he thinks he sees in reporting 140 - 150% efficiency.
- The company personnel seem to be afflicted with exuberance over the possibility of over unity, and have not worked through the numbers in computing device cost versus usable energy output. Even if they do have what they think they have, it may be years before they work through the bugs and refine this technology to the point of being able to withstand the rigors of market distribution.
- Some skeptics are accusing this company not just of exuberance but outright fraud. If these skeptics have evidence to support such an assertion, they may post it here.
