The patent-pending Magnetronic Motor is said to use a small amount of magnetic force to control a large amount of magnetic force.

Over the past 30 years, the inventors have built around twenty prototypes, and are presently putting the finishing touches on a production prototype, which they plan to introduce first to distributors, which they are beginning to sign up.

The company is planning a $15,000 (estimate) retrofit to replace rear-wheel drive vehicle's engines with the Magnetronic motor, which -- according to company predictions -- will give the vehicle a range of 500 miles per charge. Another cost to consider is that the retrofit will void any warranties.

Denis Palmer, the inventor, estimates that a two year return on investment could be had for anyone who meets or exceeds roughly 200 miles per day, with fuel costing around $2.50 per gallon, on a vehicle that gets 25 mpg. The 38-volt battery system will take about four hours to recharge.

Once enough motors are in circulation, Palmer envisions then introducing and upgrade that will provide surprisingly better performance, on a system that was already cost-competitive.

We do not have an exact date that the prototypes will be unveiled as yet. Electronic design does not lend itself well to deadlines. We are hoping for late summer.

"We have just completed some operational testing, and are just getting the first products, started in final test, as we have been working on this project it has become obvious that our schedules have slipped several times but at this time the major objectives have now been met, component failures have been reduced and our first engineering model appears to be meeting its requirements." The following report by Sterling D. Allan is from a phone conversation he had with Denis Palmer.

He said that for 100W in, they're getting around 1 HP out (which is still above the 746 W / HP supposed limit). He did not give me reason to believe that they have rigorously measured this.

He said that they recently got a dyno for verifiable testing.

In a typical motor, when the load goes up, making the rpm go down, the current goes up. He said that in their motor, when you load the motor, the current goes down. He said that this aspect alone was what they were pursuing right now, with the idea that such a motor would have greatly increased life.

I told him that the Bedini SG I built does that, but that doesn't mean it's something that is going to be viable in the marketplace. It's just a function of the circuit. There's no torque in the Bedini SG.

The real question is how much "work" is done at the lower rpm, not now much current is drawn.

He said that a PE (?) from Red Engineering (?) who inspected it said that they were way out ahead of others and were accomplishing what others only wish they could accomplish.

I said that the video that is on their site shows a vehicle going maybe 2-5 mph. "That's not going to be impressing very many people."

He said, "That's why we're not making that video public."

I'm not sure what he was hoping to accomplish by releasing it privately.

He said that they were going to be having some people from "the university" testing it.

He also mentioned some of the things they have yet to address to make it stable. He expected that it would be another 3-6 months before it is ready for our examination and public scrutiny.

On July 10, 2007, Denis Palmer wrote:

I have had a small setback in the time for the first demonstration. We have decided to get some certified tests completed before the demonstration, but the module design is almost completed. So the tests can be on the final production unit.

I was hoping to have this demo early this month but at this time it will probably be the end of July or possibly the first of August.

The method of operation and its design are not able to be presented at this time. We are waiting for the application approval from the patent office. There are a few items that make this motor unique that I will tell you, but further disclosure will have to be after approval by our patent attourney.

This motor has the unique ability to be efficient over a wider range of loads -- [more] than any other.

For example, a motor with design output of 100 [error] horsepower operates in a highly efficient manner, with a 100 watt input. Most electric motors require a high level of power to start. This motor starts with a low power supply, and its efficiency is not affected by low power input levels.

This motor is less expensive to manufacture than other motors of same output.

This motor has no (or little) inrush current; stall current is low; it will not heat up the motor and stalling the motor.

This motor operates over the extreme RPM range of 0 to 10,000 rpm without excess power draw, and without producing excess heat.

This motor is lightweight, and has many features including sizing for most any application.

Size per horsepower is better than other motors and engines.
