Perendev, headed by Michael J. Brady, is famous for its claim to an all-magnet motor, a video of which has been circulated widely on the net. In 2006, Brady claimed to have built an electromagnetic self-running version. He began taking orders for these in the output range from 100 kW to 4 MW, and in Feb. 2007 allegedly delivered as many as 80-90 in the two sizes of 100 kW and 300 kW. As of April, 2010, we have received no evidence that any devices are presently in operation or were ever delivered.

No Validation 
As of April, 2010, no one from the New Energy Congress has yet been able to validate the magnetic or EMM technologies -- that there really exists such a thing -- despite rigorous efforts, with Brady's invitation, to get in and do so since July, 2006.

Perendev has also allegedly developed a Nitrogen Motor, and an electrolysis unit, among other things.

SHUT DOWN 
Mike Brady was arrested on March 29, 2010 for embezzling 61 German customers' money in the amount of around 1 million Euros. The company closed its doors.

Electromagnetic version of the magnetic motor. Also self-running.

100 kW and 300 kW versions said to be in production now (since July, 2006), with plans also drawn up for larger sizes up to 4 MW.

Website says: "New Emm AUTO PACK design complete, prototype in production." This refers to an automobile retrofit modality.


EVIDENCE OF FRAUD:
The "Perendev" no-fuel generator pictured here (that appeared on the Perendev-Power website for years, is in fact a standard diesel generator built by SDMO Groupes Electrogens of Brest, France (part of Kholer Group).

All-Magnet Motor

The Perendev magnet motor is claimed to be driven soley by permanent magnets in a particular configuration that includes proper shielding or directing of the magnetic field. The output claimed for the scalable device's present configuration is 20 kW, attached to a generator. Perendev claims that the unit has been tested in independent laboratories and that no diminution of magnet strength is observed over time. Dimensions & weight ___ (information pending).

Electrolysis

On Oct. 23, 2007, Mike Brady posted a video to YouTube showing the Perendev electrolysis unit in operation. Brady claims in the video that the rate of production is enough to "run a small car."

In an email to Sterling D. Allan dated Oct. 23, 2007, Brady said "About 5 years ago I made a unit to run a small fiat UNO engine which was taken out of the vehicle and attached to a 2.5kw generator. The person who owned this generator did not have funding and as a result did not have electricity supply. I built the unit and put together the two unlikely parts and gave them electricity. This unit has been running for the last 5 years perhaps a little longer. To date it has not given any problems and continues to run and supply electricity for their home. I know it’s not a lot of power but they at least have lighting which they did not have in the past."

We do not yet have verification of these claims.

"I've seen a lot of electrolysis systems. I doubt [the one shown here] would power a weed wahacker let alone a small engine. It appears to be less than 1 litre per minute which is in line with the 10 amp 12 volts which at Faradays would produce around .7 litres per minute. Nitrogen Motor

"The team at Perendev has developed a recyclable nitrogen engine. This motor, measuring 175 x 150 x ? mm is capable of producing 60 kW of power. We estimate that 25 liters of nitrogen is enough for 1600 km wihtout refuelling. The concept of operation is the same as for steam but in reverse. Nitrogen boils at -195c and at ambient temperature can produce 24bar of pressure. Enough to drive a motor. When all else fails go to a moon of your nearest outer gas giant and pick up a bucket full of liquid Nitrogen!"

Testing being done inside an EADS (European Aeronautic Defence and Space Company) lab. The motor, running on compressed air at just 3 bars, turns at 2900 rpm; allegedly designed to run at 10,000 rpms on 30 bars of pressure.

  • Perendev Magnet Motor Patent Application - PCT international patent application (not award) for "Permanent Magnet Machine" by Mike Brady, made public May 4, 2006. Consists of magnets repelling magnets as the only motive force.

WO/2006/045333 Status

Here's an extract from that opinion:

1. CLARITY
The application does not meet the requirements of Article 5 PCT, because it refers to an alleged perpetuum mobile (cf. D1). A skilled person does not know how rotational energy can be created without input of energy. Due to assembling of stator magnets, shaft rotation will be caused. The rotational energy is equivalent to the energy input of bringing repelling stator magnets in proximity to rotor magnets.
2. INDEPENDENT CLAIM 1
Regardless the objection toward clarity and industrial applicability, the present application does not meet the criteria of Article 33(1) PCT, because the subject-matter of claim 1 is not new in the sense of Article 33(2) PCT. Document D2 discloses as well a motor comprising a permanent magnetic stator surrounding a permanent magnetic rotor wherein the magnets a partially screened.
3. DEPENDENT CLAIMS 2-18
Dependent claims 2-18 do not contain any features which, in combination with the features of any claim to which they refer, meet the requirements of the PCT in respect of novelty and/or inventive step (Article 33(2) and (3) PCT).

Some nuggets in the patent application:

  • The angle of the rotor magnets are optimal at 30-35 degrees from perpendicular (although it looks workable from 18-40 degrees).
  • The rotor sockets are lined with a magnetic screening material to a depth of about 50%.
  • The magnets are ND-Fe-B magnets with an optimum dimension of 37mm diameter by 75mm depth providing 360000 gauss

I met Mike Brady on a visit to Munich may 2005, with my then new wife, Michelle. Her father lived there and was associated with Perendev (Brian Richards). We met Mike at a restuarant and he agreed to be our guide for the stay. We visited the perendev lab and I saw the motor running for around 4 to 5 minutes. I have an electronics background and although not my field I could not see any way a cheat motor was involved; and Mike answered my questions regarding magnet type and strength. (Am owed a small amount of money by Mr Brady which I know I will never get and the way he used my late father in law and michelle when she was in a relationship with do not make him my favorite person but all that should not prevent the truth). Customers Not Getting Goods

On Nov. 5, 2007, a source who wishes to be anonymous wrote:

Today I went once again to the criminal investigation department in Munich, asking more details and verify the information I bring to you.

We know of no validation of Mike Brady's products since he came to Europe.

I know personally that the public prosecutor's office in Munich has had 20 customers who did not get any goods after payment. But the public prosecutor's office must stop the investigation because the money was paid to a Swiss company. So those "customers" would be technically considered "investors", with no rights to get anything -- only the risk. The customer payments were thus converted by contract into risk capital.

The public prosecutor's office is watching him very closely. If he makes a small mistake, they will catch him. The same holds true in Switzerland as well.

It looks like Brady has a tough lawyer and some devoted costumers. Presently, there are apparently more than two hundred "investors". At $20,000 each, minimum, that's nearly $4,000,000 Euros.

Customer Wants Money Back

On Nov. 6, 2007, another person wrote:

It is against federal law to sell something you don't have. If 20 or more bought one or more of Perendev's devices, each totalling over $20,000, and did not receive them as promised, he should be brought to justice. I have plenty of evidence as to what I bought and the amount I sent him. I have records as others do too. I'm sure others have evidence that would convict him. I can't see where we are powerless to go after him.
