Several lessons have been learned from "Whipmag Phase I" (October 2007 thru April 2008). These are considered important for future replication and testing. The list continues to grow as replicators compare observations and provide feedback. Specifically, the parts list is being re-evaluated as are testing methods.

Lessons learned relate to the following: Stator Bearings, Metal Tables, Flex-mount Spindle, GW/AGW/GW Acceleration, Rotor Magnet Strength, etc.

  • Douglas K. Furr's Replication of the MPMM Completed - He has not been able to get it to accelerate or maintain speed. This could be attributed to several important differences between his replica and the original, including magnet strength, device material, holding screws.

  • Replications > Bruce_TPU Replicates Turbinator's Effect - Placing a loose rotor magnet on top of the round stator magnet, Bruce_TPU said he was able to repeatedly achieve acceleration for about two seconds, and sometimes sustained rotation. (PESWiki; Feb. 2, 2008)

Feb. 1, 2008

  • Replications > Turbinator Reports Sustained Rotation - "I had a sustained rotor ... while fooling around around with the stators. The stators were not rotating but oscillating slightly (and with a rod mag attached to each stator -- like I said I was tinkering!), the rotor ... held at around 300rpm." (PESWiki; Feb. 1, 2008)

  • Slow-Motion Strobe Video of MPMM Magnet Motor - Third video from Alsetalokin enables visualization of the attraction and repulsion cycles as the rotor magnets spin anti-gear-wise to the rotation of the stator magnets, and why the ratio of rotor:stator speed is 1:4. (PESWiki; Jan. 24, 2008)

  • Nikolabackwards sents Overconfident a second video. This one shows the unit being disassembled, then being thrown in the trash.
    • Trailer Awesome, professionally rendered spoof. "The whipmag has become a big budget high drama movie, and this is the trailer. Coming Soon... Well not really, its in the trash." (by eyepatchentertainmen (http://www.youtube.com/profile?user=eyepatchentertainmen); YouTube (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FOEfkESHb0w); Jan. 18, 2008)
  • Omega_0 jig suggestion (http://www.overunity.com/index.php/topic,3871.msg71494.html#msg71494) - Overunity forum user proposes some designs for more rapid finding, optimizing, and characterization of the effects.
  • LaFonte Group's MPMM Replication - Though they've made a diligent attempt at replicating the design faithfully, they've not been able to achieve any accelleration or speed maintenance.

  • Replications > Omnibus' Replication of the MPMM - "After the initial spin, a definite acceleration is observed, which so far still cannot be sustained as long as alsetalonkin's but the effect is definitely there." (Jan. 16, 2008)

Jan. 15, 2008

  • Replications > Hydrocontro's Replication of the MPMM magnet motor - User "hydrocontro" proposes that this counter-rotating stator design accomplishes what he observed in another magnet motor design he built which only worked if the stator were held by hand. He also observes that his MPMM replica "spins better one direction (CCW) then the other (CW)". (PESWiki; Jan. 15, 2008)

  • Replications > LaFonte Group OC replication status (http://www.overunity.com/index.php/topic,3871.msg70723.html#msg70723) - "Mark received correct magnets today and installed them and has been testing for several hours, but has not had any self running indications so far." (Jan. 14, 2008)
  • Replications > Sean CLaNZeR's replication of the OC MPMM Magnet Motor - Using a temporary stator magnet configuration, awaiting arrival of the proper stator magnets, Sean CLaNZeR showed brief acceleration in his replication of "Overconfident's" all-magnet motor built by Al... As far as we can tell, this marks the first successful replication of the effect to any extent. (PESWiki; Jan 14, 2008)
