PESWiki:Welcome
From PESWiki
- If you are a Wiki-conversant user, please see our welcome page for you, to let you know some of the unique ways we approach things here at PESWiki.
Site Mission
PESWiki is designed to be a work station for the world of inventors and investigators into the exciting field of alternative energy technologies that are clean, renewable, inexpensive, and practical. PESWiki focuses especially on non-conventional technologies that are not usually given air time, such as zero point energy, magnetic motors, cold fusion, gravity motors, solid state generators, and even anti-gravity, as that seems to be inextricably tied into tapping zero point energy.
The pages at PESWiki can be edited by you, enabling you to participate in a collaborative effort to create the best repository of information available on these subjects on the Net, both in terms of clarity and relevance as well as depth and usefulness. The intent is not necessarily to house all the pertinent information here, as much as it is to create premier directories to such that already exist elsewhere.
A resource to build
|
We want you to feel like this is your website that you have helped build, and which continues to improve because of your involvement. You might even assume directorship of a particular favorite subject, serving as midwife in its birthing into full manifestation. Not only can you post content at PESWiki, but you can actually edit existing content to improve its presentation. Previous versions of a page are not lost but can be restored by anyone. Pages can be protected from modification, but we prefer to leave as many pages open as possible. Sysops can modify protected pages in case you have recommendations for those pages.
Out of choas, order
While this may sound chaotic, the model has proven to work extremely well in other wiki projects on the Net. Yes, there is the possibility that the open system will be abused at times, but the precedent seen in other wikis is that those who keep on top of the site are able to stay ahead of those who misuse the site, keeping things in increasingly good shape.
Probably the best success story of the wiki is Wikipedia which is now arguably the world's best encyclopedia, and which uses the same program we are using. They have had over one million people contribute content to their site which now features over 300,000 entries since Jan. 2001. They have over 1000 regular users who help build and maintain the site. Historically, The developers constructed MediaWiki wiki software to serve the needs of Wikipedia, but it has since become one of the most popular general wiki solutions and this is what we are using.
PESWiki vs Wikipedia
While the topic and audience covered by PESWiki is but a subset of a general site such as Wikipedia, we are nevertheless encouraged by their example. The reason we commenced a separate site rather than building these subjects at Wikipedia, is because some of the key topics we intend to cover are considered too non-conventional at Wikipedia and are not permitted there.
Not only is PESWiki an encyclopedia, but it also uses the wiki infrastructure to enable other community-collaborative projects such as the Directory, News, Events listing, Academy, Store, Classifieds, Political Action coordination, and more departments. Deparment "Glossary." There we will post reference material that is not necessarily energy-related, but which needs to be referenced for understanding energy.
Open Sourcing
One of the most important uses will be the Open Sourcing, in which the inventor is willing to give his technology away such that others can replicate and possibly even take the technology to market. Those involved in the project can help construct a page at PESWiki to facilitate the clear presentation of the technology such that others can replicate and improve on the technology, and have a place to post their results and theorize on additional improvements, and so forth.
PESWiki can even be used to establish a web presence for an inventor, team, or technology that does not yet appear on the net. At PESWiki we need to focus on building areas that are not receiving adequate attention elsewhere. Things that Wikipedia will not allow on their site (outside the box), for example, but which are meritorious.

Coordinating tasks
One of the big tasks is coordinating the directories at FreeEnergyNews.com with the PESWiki site:
|
FreeEnergyNews.com directory (http://freeenergynews.com/Directory) | |
PESWiki.com Energy directory (http://peswiki.com/energy/Directory) |
| 1st steps: "how do you post and edit?" |
