In Dec 2004 I enquired as to the cost of Ground source heat pump in a Toronto suburban site for a 1600 Squ ft. house. The quote from a contractor was about $Can 20,000 - too much to justify the cost savings over efficient gas forced air heat. I am curious if anyone has tried to "home cook" a system, and at what cost?
