"Henri Coanda invented this in the 1950s. Furthermore, he set up a BIG unit over a seawater pond in Morocco and produced fresh water -- the salt water was heated by the reflected light, vapor rose up the tube , condensed and fresh water poured out. The French govt shut him down because it threatened their salt monopoly.

I doubt that these newbies bother to give him any credit."
