Plans and Customer Service Inadequate

Just wondering - Has anyone built this unit yet? I'm starting to build mine and was wondering if you have found the instructions rather lacking in being correct and short on details?

I've asked the folks at HHOHHU to give me the name/contact of some of the people they say have built the unit, but so far (several days), I've not gotten this information. Let us know what you find in building it. We'll look forward to your report. And if you wouldn't mind, we could create a page at PESWiki just about your replication, showing pictures, talking about your experience sourcing, building, and operating the device.

If you have a video camera, maybe you could take some shots along the way and we could post a video about the process.

Sterling,

Thanks for the reply. I sent an e-mail to HHOHHU to get some building / parts clarification, but have not received a response yet. Maybe you’re just supposed to guess? Anyway, I have the torch, flash arrestor, and heat sink built. The tank cap is also done. Once I get a functional unit, I will take some pictures / videos and will probably re-write / correct their documentation. My interest is adapting HHO for residential use (ex: heating, cooking, laundry, and hot water) for an off grid house I’m currently building. Thought this heater would be a good starting point. It’s all about learning, so any help I can get or give is a good thing!

what email are you using...we promptly answer all emails? We also have emailed a bunch of the first people that bought our plans to find someone willing to be contacted.....there are such things as privacy laws you know! As soon as someone responds that is willing we will forward that information.

I did get a reply from HHOHHU after a couple days. I was asking where the Bronze wool went. It was on the parts list, but no info on where it went (there are several parts listed with no reference). The reply I received said to watch the “Flash Arrestor” video (which does not exist), and then said to purchase one from HHOGLABS.com. The heat exchanger video states that the tubes are 6” long, but the documents states 8”. Their reply was to use 6” tubes (so now I get to re-cut all the tubes). It would be nice if they would update their information to be consistent. I only have the 30 day access plan, so it probably won’t happen for me. Starting to wonder why I purchased plans if they tell you to go buy assembled components from other on-line sources, especially since plans for everything in the system (except the heat exchanger) are common and free on the web. I am continuing to build however, and anyone can contact me. I have some pictures to post. I just need to get them uploaded. I will try to do that in the next few days.
